A piece of Switzerland in every home.

Hardly any mountain is as famous as the Matterhorn . With its striking shape, its almost perfect pyramid, and its imposing height of 4,478 meters, it has long been more than just a mountain—it is a symbol of Switzerland, a myth of the Alps, and a global symbol of natural power and beauty. At Swissummit, the Matterhorn wasn't just the first peak we turned into a candle—it was the origin of our entire idea: Swiss mountains, handcrafted as design objects made from organic soy wax.

The dangerously beautiful mountain

The Matterhorn lies on the border between Valais (Switzerland) and the Aosta Valley (Italy). Although it is not the highest mountain in the Alps, it is considered one of the most spectacular – primarily due to its steep, freestanding form. For centuries, it was considered insurmountable . It wasn't until 1865 that the British climber Edward Whymper and his team achieved the first ascent – a historic event that ended tragically, however: four members of his rope team fell to their deaths on the descent. Since then, the Matterhorn has been surrounded by a certain awe – a mixture of admiration and respect.

Symbol of Switzerland

Today, the Matterhorn is perhaps the most recognizable natural motif in Switzerland. It adorns chocolate packaging, postage stamps, and advertising campaigns—and is firmly anchored in the collective memory. It stands for pride, strength, and Swiss precision . It's no wonder that this mountain was the first one we at Swissummit cast in wax.

From the summit to the candle

Our Matterhorn candle is a loving homage to this unique mountain. Featuring a trademarked design inspired by the real silhouette, it combines alpine power with stylish aesthetics. It is hand-poured in Switzerland from 100% organic soy wax. The goal was to bring the raw beauty and clarity of the Matterhorn to life in a sustainable, decorative object.

It's not just about the form, but also about the feeling: When the candle burns, cold stone turns into warm light – a symbol of change, calm, and grounding. Precisely what the Matterhorn embodies in our hectic world.

More than decoration – an emotional piece of home

Many people associate personal memories with the Matterhorn: a hike to Zermatt, the first ski ride with a view of the summit, the sunrise over a mountain lake. Our candle evokes precisely these emotions. It's not just a decorative object, but a piece of memory, identity, and Alpine joie de vivre .

Conclusion: The Matterhorn as a shining light

The Matterhorn is more than just stone—it's a natural monument that has fascinated for centuries. With our Swissummit candle, we bring this fascination into your home. It represents Swiss design, sustainability, and a deep connection to nature.

Light them – and feel the story that each peak tells.
